Description:
OMEGA SEAMASTER REF. 14755-61
The first professional Omega Seamaster was introduced in 1957, along with the Railmaster and Speedmaster. The Seamaster name had already been used for some Omega dress watches, but it was not until 1957 that the name was dedicated to a series of models that Omega had developed specifically for professional underwater activities. Reference 14755-61, like the present example, is a rare transitional reference made between the very first Seamaster models and the later redesigned references (165024 and 166024) which came with an enlarged bezel and a 42mm case with twisted lugs.
The overall condition of the present Seamaster Ref. 14755-61 is very good. Despite slight signs of aging, the dial is absolutely flawless and exhibits a beautiful orange patina. The case has probably been lightly polished in the past, but still has its original factory proportions, strong lugs and sharp bevels. The caliber runs correctly, the bracelet is in very good condition, the bezel has no cracks.
All components are correct and original to the watch, including the dial, bezel, caseback hand set, crown, caliber, bracelet and end links.
The watch comes with an Omega Extract from the Archives confirming the 1962 production date and delivery in Kenya.
Serial Number 18296XXX, Year 1962.
