Rolex Explorer Ref. 1016, automatic movement Cal. 1570 26 jewels, black dial, stainless steel case 36mm, screw-down back, Rolex bracelet and folding clasp, serial number 369xxxx. Due to its 30-year production run, the Explorer 1016 exists with several different dial finishes. This particular example of the Explorer 1016 from 1975 is fitted with matte black dial. A signature detail of the Explorer model is the trio of Arabic numerals at 3, 6, and 9 oclock, accompanied by “Mercedes-style” center hands.

Stainless steel case, 35.5 mm diam., screw down Brevet crown. Stainless steel Rolex rivet bracelet with clasp “Gay Frères”. Produced in 1954ca.
