HEUER CARRERA 30 REF. 7753NT

The Heuer Carrera was launched in 1963, and the inspiration for this iconic watch was taken by the most dangerous car race in the world at the time, the Carrera Panamericana in Mexico. The Carrera Panamericana was an international road car race held in Mexico from 1950 to 1954, when it was suspended as it was deemed too dangerous by the same authorities who had originally promoted it. Jack Heuer, then at the lead of Heuer, was fascinated by this extreme race and decided to create a sports chronograph for drivers naming it “Carrera”. The simple but essential design, the size and the reliability of the caliber made this watch an icon just a few years after its introduction. Today, the Carrera is still produced in a modern version by TAG HEUER. The most sought-after Carrera models are vintage models exceptionally preserved like this Carrera 30 reference 7753NT.

This Heuer Carrera 30 is a 2 counters chronograph reference 7753NT introduced by Heuer in early 70’s. The most interesting characteristics of this Carrera reference are the 35mm screw back case with pump pushers, black dial with outer tachymetric scale and contrasting subdials, manual winding Valjoux 7730 caliber. The present reference is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after among Heuer collectors. The watch is in excellent general condition and has no particular flaws. The dial has no scratches or marks, the case is exceptionally well preserved, the Valjoux 7730 movement works perfectly, the caseback has no steel-cancer and screws as it should. All components are correct for a second series Carrera chronograph, including the dial without the “T” indication for tritium and the caseback with the signature “Heuer-Leonidas”.

HEUER CARRERA REF. 1153

The Carrera takes its name from the legendary “Carrera Panamericana”, a worldwide famous road race held in Mexico between 1950 and 1954. The Carrera reference 1153 is one of the coolest chronographs you can get, with a fantastic vintage look, a true motorsport pedigree and a design originally penned by the man himself : Mr. Jack Heuer. Originally, the Carrera was powered by hand-wound chronograph movements, but with the advent of the automatic chronograph in 1969 (also a pioneering achievement by Heuer), production soon switched to automatic movements. This model is one of the most sought-after references of the automatic calibers era.
This Heuer Carrera reference 1153 is an exceptional example of this historic Carrera chronograph. With its 39mm cushioned case, silver sunburst dial with black subdials, and outer tachymeter ring, it is undoubtedly an excellent watch to add to a vintage collection. The bright orange hand is a distinctive style and eye-catching color combination typical of the 70s. A special treat is the original rice bead bracelet from legendary bracelet manufacturer Gay Freres. The watch is in excellent condition with its fully functional original Heuer automatic movement, caliber 11.
