JAEGER LECOULTRE MEMOVOX BLACK GILT DIAL 2 CROWNS

Jaeger-LeCoultre has created some of the most beautiful and iconic watches of all time, and the Memovox is undoubtedly one of them. Jaeger-LeCoultre began producing the Memovox in the early 1950s, which featured a mechanical alarm and was advertised as a watch that “reminds, notifies and awakens”. The Memovox was produced in several versions, which differed in the material and design of the dials, the double crown has always been a typical feature of the Memovox. The crown for setting and winding the watch is located on the right side of the case at 4 o’clock, while the crown for the alarm function is located at 2 o’clock.

This is a beautiful example of the iconic Memovox automatic alarm watch by Jaeger-LeCoultre. The dial is in stunning condition, with a flawless gloss black dial with gilt minute track, alarm marker and text. The Applied logo at 12 o’clock and Dauphine hands are in steel, as are the hour markers. The elegance of the specimen is further emphasized by its beautiful original steel bracelet with JLC logo on the clasp. The case still maintains its original factory proportions. Exceptionally well preserved, the present Memovox is a great watch for any vintage collection.

TISSOT STAINLESS STEEL GILT DIAL OVERSIZE

By the 1920s, electricity had entered everyday life, but it magnetized clocks and affected their accuracy. To solve this problem, Tissot developed the world’s first non-magnetic watch in 1930. The excellent results of the Tissot AntimagnĂ©tique were confirmed by numerous scientific studies commissioned from Swiss watchmaking research laboratories, in particular the famous independent institution of Neuchâtel. Tissot was thus the first Swiss watch company to produce magnet-resistant watches. To highlight this success, Tissot often put the word “Antimagnetique” on the dials of their watches, as on this exceptional and very rare vintage Tissot.

This time-only vintage Tissot comes with a 38mm stainless steel case, which is very unusual for the time. In the early 40s, most watches had a smaller case diameter, very few were made in such a large case size. This already rare Tissot rarity is further enhanced by a gilt black dial with Arabic and baton numerals and minutes track, engine turned subsidiary seconds at 6 and pencil hands. The case is all steel, the caliber is a manual wind and signed Tissot. The watch is really exceptionally well preserved, the case is in virtually pristine condition, the snap back still closes perfectly, the dial still shows the original glossy finish with original lume on the hands and Arabic markers, the calibers work perfectly.

ROLEX “TEXANO” REF. 5100 YELLOW GOLD

The Rolex reference 5100, called “Texano” by Italian collectors for its esthetic exuberance, is also a watch with exceptional technical characteristics. It is indeed animated by the famous Beta 21 caliber. The Beta 21 caliber was the result of a joint venture between some of the most prestigious Swiss watchmakers, who had joined forces to develop a quartz caliber that would surpass those made in Japan in terms of reliability and precision. The result was extraordinary, one of the most precise and refined quartz calibers ever manufactured. The Rolex “Texano” ref. 5100 was only made in very small numbers, there is talk of 1000 pieces in gold and 99 in white gold. Finding an example in exceptional condition like this one is an increasingly difficult challenge every year even for the more renowned dealers.

The present 18kt yellow gold Rolex “Texano” Ref. 5100 is certainly one of the best specimens that have appeared on the market. The case is in mint, unpolished condition with deep hallmarks and sharp lugs, the bracelet is flawless, as is the tritium dial. Virtually untouched, with a perfectly functioning Beta 21 caliber and coming with a beautiful oxidation patina all over this Rolex “Texano” is an exceptional example for anyone seeking quality without compromise.
