The present timepiece is a fantastic Compax model from the early 1940s, manufactured by Universal Genève. This Compax is one of the rarest and most sought-after models, featuring a number of unique characteristics. First of all, the case is incredibly large for its time, measuring 46mm in diameter, suggesting that this reference was likely intended for pilots or aviation professionals who required a watch with superior readability. Additionally, the dial has other distinctive features: it is black with an outer gilt finish, silver-printed text, and radium numerals. The watch is entirely original in all of its components. The overall condition is good, with the case in nice, original condition. The dial shows some aging, which is typical for watches with radium numerals and hands. The Caliber 292 movement works perfectly.The watch was publicly sold in 2019 at the Monaco Legend Auction’s Exclusive Timepieces & Jewelry.
