Description:
AUDEMARS PIGUET ROYAL OAK CITY OF SAILS REF. 25860IS
Many watch enthusiasts believe that the Royal Oak, designed by Gerald Genta, is one of the most beautiful watches ever made. The jumbo version was launched in 1972, but just a few decades later, the chronograph version also appeared in Audemars Piguet’s catalogues, with reference 25860. The Royal Oak Chronograph 25860ST retains the original jumbo proportions and the same case diameter, but has a bolder look. The 25860ST was made in many different versions, differing mainly by the type of dial and the material used. One of the most exclusive versions are certainly the limited edition models like this 25860IS City of Sails with titanium case and bracelet and a fancy blue and yellow dial.
This City of Sails reference 25860IS is an excellent specimen of this very rare Royal Oak chronograph. Manufactured in only 300 pieces, the 25860IS is very hard to find on the market as it is rare for a collector to part with such a collectible item.
Used with care and attention, the present example has reached the present day in excellent general condition with a perfect no-stretch bracelet, a sharp case and a flawless dial.
The case and bracelet shows very little signs of wear which can be barely noticed with the naked eye. The self winding 2385 caliber has been tested by our technician and it’s perfect working condition. All components are correct and original for the year of manufacture.
Serial Number E,29XXX, Year 2000 circa, Diameter 39mm.
