Description:
IWC GRANDE COMPLICATION PLATINUM REF. 3770 LIMITED EDITION
The reference 3770 was IWC’s first ever “Grande Complication” watch. For IWC this watch was an extraordinary horological achievement and the famous watchmaker Giulio Papi, who is now considered one of the greatest watchmakers of all time, was also involved in this ambitious project. Made entirely in-house, the IWC 3770 is a truly exceptional wristwatch from a technical perspective. It features 18 complications: Hour, minute and seconds display, moon phase, month, day and date display, perpetual calendar, year, decade, century and millennium display, chronograph seconds counter, chronograph minutes counter, chronograph hours counter, minute repeater, quarter repeater and hour repeater. To realize this extraordinary watch, Papi and his team had to apply for 12 patents and the project took five years, from 1985 to 1990, the year of the public presentation. The IWC 3770 was produced in limited edition in different variants of case material and dial. Produced in only 50 pieces, the 3770 with platinum case and black dial is undoubtedly one of the most exclusive versions of this incredible watch.
The present example of the IWC “Grande Complication” Ref. 3770 in platinum with black dial is an exceptional example of this highly desirable and rare wristwatch. The overall condition is truly exceptional: the multi-patented 659 pieces caliber works perfectly, the case still has the original movement shapes with deep and well-defined Platinum stamps, the dial is absolutely flawless, the caseback still has the original factory stickers. The watch was most likely never worn by its previous owner.
The watch comes with the original IWC box, warranty, brochures, limited edition set.
